Plane in mid air Drama after being struck by lighting over Isle of Wight

A plane was hit by lightning this morning as it flew across the Isle of Wight. The Aurigny Air Services flight from Guernsey to Manchester declared an emergency as it was hit near the Island during severe weather. Isle of Wight emergency services were made aware of the incident. It is understood the plane lost some of its electrics and was forced to return to Guernsey, where it safely landed.
