Student bailed after bombing making equipment in Portsmouth

An East Sussex man arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act has been released but remains under investigation. The 20-year-old was arrested as part of an investigation into the discovery of a suspicious object in a student accommodation block in Stanhope Road, Portsmouth. It was reported to us at around 4.30pm on Thursday, April 19. No-one was injured in the incident and there’s not believed to be any wider or ongoing threat to the public.
