999 service down on UK landlines

The 999 emergency phone line is down in parts of the country – with the 101 non-emergency number also experiencing issues. Places affected by the potentially life-threatening issue include large swathes of East Midland and Other parts of Uk, as well as neighbouring counties. Police were notified of the disruption to the services by BT at around midnight The 999 line is reportedly not working for people in the affected areas, while the 101 number is operating with a reduced Fire and rescue services have also been effected by it as well. The outage is expected until early hours of the morning, where possible use mobile phones if you need an Emergency Service, More to follow
