Man charged with the murder of Sophie Cavanagh in Bromley.
A man has been charged with the murder of Sophie Cavanagh in Bromley. Martin Cavanagh, 35 of Chatterton Road, Bromley was charged on Monday, 28 May with the murder of 31-year-old Sophie Cavanagh. He appeared in custody today (28 May) at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 30 May. The charge follows an investigation by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command which was launched on Sunday, 20 May after police were called to a residential address in Chatterton Road, Bromley. Sophie’s body was found inside the address. A post-mortem examination took place on Tuesday, 22 May – a provisional cause of death was given as compression of the neck. Martin Cavanagh was arrested by police on Thursday, 24 May and charged as above.
