Teen Blast Victim with Acid Attack in Kingston, Gets Six Years
Donell Wilkins, 18, from Robin Hood Way, Kingston, was slammed with a six-year prison sentence today at Kingston Crown Court. The teen was found guilty of throwing a corrosive substance at another person, aiming to burn and maim — a brutal attack on 21 July 2017.
Acid Attack Sparks Horror on Fife Road
The shocking assault happened around 6.40pm on Fife Road. Wilkins was part of a group of teens who clashed with two young men. Without warning, Wilkins sprayed a corrosive liquid at one victim, a 17-year-old boy, then casually walked off.
The teenager suffered burns to his face and eye, forcing a hospital trip before being discharged. The exact substance remains unknown, but police launched a full investigation immediately.
CCTV Footage Nails Wilkins
Detectives pieced together evidence after spotting Wilkins on CCTV from the scene. He was arrested and charged on 7 October 2017, then bailed to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court the following month.
Swift Justice Served at Kingston Crown
The trial kicked off on 18 June at Kingston Crown Court and after four days, Wilkins was found guilty on 22 June. Today, he faces six years behind bars for this vicious attack.
