Deadly Attack in South London
Police were called at 7:21pm on 1 August following reports of three males stabbed in SE5. Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. Despite attempts to save him, a man believed to be in his 20s died at the scene.
Two other males, aged 16 and 31, also suffered stab wounds but are stable after hospital treatment.
Two Teens Arrested Over Murder
Officers quickly arrested two young men, aged 19 and 18, near the crime scene on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody at a south London police station.
Gang Violence Feared
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard, leading the investigation, said: “Another young man has tragically and needlessly lost his life through an act of violence. We are keeping an open mind, but one line of enquiry is gang-related violence.”
He added: “We have made two arrests and are working round the clock to bring those responsible to justice. We urgently need witnesses or anyone with information to come forward – no detail is too small.”
