New Year’s Day stabbing horror in Westminster leaves man dead
Police rushed to a stabbing on Park Lane, Westminster, at 5.30am on Tuesday, 1 January. Despite frantic efforts by officers and paramedics, a man in his early 30s was declared dead just after 6am.
Fatal stabbing at private party
The victim was found seriously injured outside a venue hosting a private New Year’s party. Two men, aged 37 and 29, plus a 29-year-old woman, also suffered stab wounds. All three were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Detectives believe the deceased and the two injured men were working as security staff. They were reportedly attacked by a group trying to gain entry to the party. The woman was harmed while helping to shut the front door.
Police hunt more witnesses and CCTV footage
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge urged anyone present to come forward. “A number of witnesses have already been spoken to, but many who were there remain untraced,” he said. “Some may have captured the attack on mobile phones.”
“This shocking incident happened just hours into the New Year in a busy area full of revellers heading home. We need your help to solve this.”
