Police charge 16 year old with murder

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Hackney have charged a 16-year-old with murder. Officers were called at around 2.30pm on Friday, 26 April to reports of a 29-year-old man suffering from stab injuries on Frampton Park Road. London Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was taken to an east London hospital where he subsequently died. Formal identification has not yet been carried out but the victim’s family are content for him to be named as Joshua White, 29, from Homerton. A post-mortem conducted at Poplar Mortuary on Saturday, 26 April gave cause of death as a stab wound to the heart. A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to an east London police station, where he was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in the early hours of Sunday, 28 April. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Stratford Youth Court on Monday, 29 April charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Enquiries into the circumstances, including the stabbing of a man in his 20s in Wilton Way, E8, continue.
