A3 Southbound closed following a collision

The A3 is currently closed southbound from its junction with the B3006 to the A2727 near Liss. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have closed the road due to a road traffic collision that has left a spillage of oil on the road surface. Police closed the road in the early hours of Friday morning and one man has been arrested for Drink/drug driving following a single vehicle collision. The man involved escaped luckily without injury. He remains in custody at Portsmouth central police station. For traffic approaching the closure locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and may potentially have to re-route your journey. If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media. A Diversion route is signed by the solid triangle diversion symbol and guidance is as follows Leave the A3 southbound at the Ham Barn roundabout. Use the 1st exit and join the B3006. Continue through Liss until Farnham Road. Keep right onto the Farham Road, continue down to roundabout and use the 2nd exit to rejoin the A3 Southbound. More to follow
