Manhunt for fail to stop driver who mowed down man in fatal collision

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a car failed to stop having collided with a man in Chessington. Police were called to a car in collision with a man in Moor Lane, Chessington at 12.33am on Friday, 26 July. The driver did not stop and the man was dragged under the car for some distance. Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service. The man, believed to be aged 25 years, was pronounced dead in Moor Lane. Police believe they know the man’s identity and his next of kin have been informed. Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. There has been no arrest. Enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances. The car remains outstanding. Officers are not releasing further details at this time.
