Tragic Crash Near Weymouth Claims Young Biker’s Life
Dorset Police are hunting for witnesses after a fatal smash involving a black Triumph motorcycle and a green Daihatsu 4×4 on the B3157 Coast Road near Weymouth.
The collision happened at 5.38pm on Sunday, 8 December 2019, on Bramdon Lane between Chickerell and Portesham. The rider, a man in his 20s from Stroud, Gloucestershire, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving specialist support.
Calls for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
The two people in the Daihatsu were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Emergency services closed roads to manage the response and investigate the scene thoroughly.
Sergeant Mark Scammell of Dorset’s traffic unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the motorcyclist at this time as we carry out a full investigation to understand exactly what happened.”
He added: “We urge anyone who witnessed the crash or was driving nearby and has dashcam footage to come forward. Your help could prove crucial.”
