Police led incident closed the Southbound M1 motorway in Northamptonshire
The M1 in Northamptonshire is closed southbound between J16 and J15a near Northampton, due to a Police led incident.
Road users are advised to follow the “Hollow Square” diversion symbol. Exit the M1 southbound at J16. Take the first exit onto the A4500 Weedon Road. Continue along the A4500 passing over the Weedon Road/Banbury Road Roundabout and through the signalised junctions at Upton Valley Way, St Crispin, Upton Mill Lane and Kent Road to the A4500/A5076 Weedon Road Roundabout. At the roundabout turn right (south)onto the A5076 Upton Way. Continue along A5076 Upton Way passing through two roundabouts(Telford Way and Clinkers Road) to the A5076/A5123 Danes Camp Way Roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit (south) and continue along the A5123 to M1 J15a, rejoin the M1 southbound.
Road users are advised to allow extra journey time, and plan ahead if travelling this afternoon.
