Commuters face gridlock on the M6 after two HGVs collide early this morning at Junction 10 (Walsall, A454). The crash left a huge diesel spill, a shed load scattered across the road, and serious damage to the barriers. As a result, the carriageway is closed in both directions, causing long delays.

Expect at least an hour’s extra travel time, with queues stretching back through Junction 10A on the M54 southbound and Junction 8 on the M5 northbound.
If you’re heading between the North West and the South, consider ditching the M6 at J15 (Stoke, A500). Then, take the A500 and A50 eastbound to join the M1, continuing southbound to avoid the mess.
