Blaze Hits Edmonton Industrial Park: Conveyor Belt Goes Up in Flames

Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters rushed to tackle a fire at an industrial unit on Kenninghall Road, Edmonton.

Recycling Plant Conveyor Belt Destroyed

The fire broke out inside a single-storey unit used for recycling waste metal. A conveyor belt overheated and was completely destroyed in the blaze. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Swift Action Averts Disaster

“The operators of the recycling plant undertook a prompt evacuation of the building before we arrived, following the emergency procedures they had in place to keep everyone safe,” said Sub Officer Tom Castle.

The fire brigade was called just before 3pm. Fire crews from Edmonton, Tottenham, and Walthamstow quickly brought the flames under control by shortly after 4pm.
