From Wednesday, all staff and students in Year 7 and above must wear face coverings in communal areas outside classrooms if they can’t keep their distance. This fresh government guidance comes just before England’s new lockdown kicks in at midnight, following MPs’ narrow approval in a 1-vote House decision.
Scotland Leads With Stricter Rules
Meanwhile, secondary school pupils and staff in Scotland have already been rocking masks while moving between lessons or in shared spaces. Nicola Sturgeon’s new rules go further: from this week, kids aged 15 and over must wear face coverings inside classrooms in high-risk areas.
