Knife-Wielding Suspect Climbs Rooftops in Ilford Standoff
Police were called to Ilford High Road at 3.30pm following reports of an assault. The male victim, luckily, did not need hospital treatment.
Suspect Flees Assault Scene, Takes to Rooftops
Eyewitnesses reported the attacker was armed with a knife. When officers arrived, the suspect had scrambled onto rooftops along Ilford High Road. Using the rooftops as a route, he made his way to Audrey Road.
Man Surrenders After Rooftop Stand-Off
Police engaged with the man, who finally came down voluntarily at around 5.10pm. The 22-year-old was promptly arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and assault.
He was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following his arrest.
