Firefighters Battle Two Bush Blazes in Hythe

Fire crews from Hardley Station rushed to tackle a bush fire in Hythe at 10.34pm on Wednesday. Using just one hose reel, they swiftly doused the flames and checked for hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.

Suspected Arson Under Police Probe

The cause of the first fire was labelled “doubtful” by firefighters. Officials handed over all details to Hampshire Police, who have launched an investigation.

Same Crew Tackles Second Blaze Minutes Later

Before they could catch their breath, the same crew was scrambled to a second bush fire less than a mile away. This larger blaze needed two hose reels to bring under control.

Police Seek Public Help

The fire service urges anyone with information to come forward. “If you feel you have any information that could help, call 101,” they said.
