Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Baby Found Seriously Injured in Blackpool
A man has been charged with attempted murder after a four-month-old baby girl was found critically injured inside a Blackpool home. The baby remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Baby Girl Fighting for Life
The harrowing incident was reported at 6:05pm on December 3, when the North West Ambulance Service alerted police to the seriously injured infant found at a property on Onslow Road, Layton, Blackpool.
The baby was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital before being transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Man Arrested and Charged
Initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH), Jordan Lee, 28, of Onslow Road, Blackpool, has now been formally charged with attempted murder. He appeared at Blackpool Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Firstly, my thoughts are with the loved ones of the baby girl at this incredibly difficult time. She remains in hospital in a critical condition and her family are being supported by specially trained officers,” said DCI Eric Halford of Blackpool Police.
“While a man has been charged, our investigation is ongoing. I urge anyone with information or who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.”
