Prisoner vanishes from open jail
Ryan Hill, 41, failed to return to 1 Open Prison on Christmas Eve, sparking a police manhunt. Hill was behind bars for manslaughter since 2008 and was recalled in 2019 after a burglary offence. Authorities warned the public that he remains at large.
Known locations and description released
South Yorkshire Police revealed Hill has ties to Wakefield, Upton, Milton Keynes, and Sowerby near Thirsk. He stands about 6ft 3ins tall, with a medium build and blond hair. Notably, Hill is missing a front tooth and sports several tattoos, including one on his right arm that reads: ‘bulldog bulldog breed Oggy’.
Police issue warning
The force urged anyone who spots Hill not to approach but to call 999 immediately. The hunt continues for the dangerous fugitive as officers close in on his trail.
