Wirral Police Shut Down Troublemaker’s Birkenhead Home
Wirral Police, teaming up with Wirral Council’s anti-social behaviour (ASB) unit, have won a three-month Closure Order on a trouble hotspot at 54 Harrowby Road, Birkenhead. The order was slapped on the property after repeated anti-social behaviour incidents.
Closure Order Hits Hard
Issued at Wirral Magistrates Court on Thursday 20 May, the full closure order bans access to the property until 20 August. It’s backed by the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. To make things even tougher, the housing association has terminated the tenancy, ensuring the nuisance neighbour won’t return.
Police Take a Stand Against ASB
“Whenever we receive reports of antisocial behaviour we will do everything within our powers to work with partners including Wirral Council and housing associations to take action and where necessary apply for closure orders,” said Community Policing Sergeant Alan McKeon.
“People have the right to live in peace without suffering from those who cause misery. We understand the stress this brings and will keep working with residents to tackle these problems.”
“Thanks to info from the community and partners, we gathered enough evidence to win this order at court. If you see or hear anything, don’t stay silent — speak up. It helps us act faster and better.”
How to Report Anti-Social Behaviour
