Two Men Arrested After Brutal Home Invasion in Gillingham
Violent Break-In Shocks Charles Street Residents
D’quan Samuel, 21, from Canterbury Street, Gillingham, and Malachi Oba, 22, of Longley Road, Rochester, allegedly smashed their way into a Charles Street home at around 1am on Wednesday, 7 April 2021.
Victims Suffer Serious Injuries
A man and woman inside were viciously assaulted. The man suffered serious head injuries, while the woman was left with a badly injured arm and bruises across her body. Both needed hospital treatment.
Arrests and Charges Follow Police Investigation
Police arrested Samuel and Oba on Thursday, 27 May. The Chief Constable’s Crime Squad charged them with aggravated burglary and two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent.
- Samuel also faces charges for carrying a bladed article (a knife).
- Oba was charged with possession of an offensive weapon—a crowbar.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Crown Court Hearing
Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 28 May, and were remanded in custody. Their next court date is set for Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, 21 June.
