Human Remains Found in Agnes Akom Disappearance Probe
Police made a grim discovery on Monday, 14 June, when they found human remains at Neasden Recreation Park. The find is linked to the disappearance of 20-year-old Agnes Akom.
While forensic teams work to confirm the identity, Agnes’s family have been informed and are receiving specialist support. Officers are tight-lipped about the details for now.
Who Is Agnes Akom?
Agnes, also known as ‘Dora’, is a Hungarian national who moved to the UK three years ago. She vanished without a trace on the morning of Sunday, 9 May, after leaving her home in Cricklewood Broadway. She was reported missing two days later, on 11 May.
Since then, there has been no sign or word from the young woman.
Investigation Ongoing, Police Plead for Privacy
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, lead investigator from the Met’s Specialist Crime North, said:
“The discovery of human remains by my colleagues searching the area is both shocking and deeply disturbing for everyone concerned, especially Agnes’s family who continue to be supported by specialist officers. I ask that their privacy is respected during this very difficult time.
I expect my team and forensic specialists to remain at Neasden Recreation Park for several days as they secure the scene and carry out examinations. I also thank the local community for their patience as we continue our enquiries.”
