County Lines Drug Gangs Exploit Kids and Vulnerable Adults
County lines gangs use dedicated phone lines to push Class A drugs in new towns, often preying on kids and vulnerable people. The gangs groom youngsters to deal drugs and take over homes of vulnerable adults in a vile tactic called “cuckooing.”
Sergeant James West, who led the operation, said:
“We’ve done significant work to identify key players in county lines. This bust is one of many recent successes in cracking down on organised crime in Bedfordshire. Our communities can be assured we’re fighting hard to keep them safe.”
Detective Chief Inspector Louisa Glynn added:
“County lines gangs exploit children with violence and debt bondage, forcing them to carry drugs and weapons. It’s crucial we work with partners to protect vulnerable people and disrupt these criminals.”
Police Urge Public to Help Tackle Drug Crime
