Tragic Cyclist Death in Southampton Crash
Police are hunting witnesses after a fatal smash involving a cyclist and a car in Southampton on the evening of 23 July.
Cyclist Dies After Hill Lane Collision
At 9.58pm, officers were called to Hill Lane following reports of a collision between a vehicle and a 33-year-old local cyclist. The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital. Sadly, he later died from his wounds.
Driver Arrested Over Drug Driving Suspicion
A 24-year-old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of drug driving related to the incident. He has since been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
Police Sgt Nick Tucker said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident where a man has lost his life as a result of the injuries he has suffered – and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.”
