Tragic Discovery: Body of Missing 5-Year-Old Found in Ogmore River

Police were called at 5:45am on Saturday 31st July after a 5-year-old child was reported missing in Sarn, Bridgend. Officers rushed to the scene and tragically found the child’s body in the Ogmore River near Pandy Park.

The youngster was rushed to Princess of Wales Hospital where sadly, death was confirmed.

Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses

Specially trained officers are supporting the devastated family as an investigation gets underway.

Chief Inspector Geraint White said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young child has sadly lost their life. We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to get in touch.”

He added a stern warning: “We ask the public not to speculate on social media as this is an active investigation. If you have any information that can help, please contact us.”
