Police Are Appealing For Witnesses Following A Fatal Road Traffic Collision Involving A Pedestrian Near Leeds

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) would like to speak with anyone who saw or has information about the collision on Westerton Road, Tingley on Sunday February 20, 2022. The collision occurred at about 4.10pm when a green and grey Citroen Berlingo van, which was travelling South West, was in collision with a man who was crossing the road. The man, aged 75, suffered serious injuries and later died in hospital. The male driver was arrested from the scene and remains in police custody. Sergeant Mick Kilburn of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. “Anyone who saw what happened or who saw the van beforehand or has footage of the incident is asked to contact the Major Collision and Enquiry Team on 101 referencing police log 1176 of February 20.”
