Tragic Fatal Crash in Tingley: Police Hunt Witnesses
The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) is urgently calling for witnesses to a fatal crash on Westerton Road, Tingley. The horrific collision happened just after 4pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Van Hits Pedestrian, Man Dies
A green and grey Citroen Berlingo van, heading southwest, struck a 75-year-old man crossing the road. The victim suffered serious injuries and later died in hospital.
Driver Arrested, Police Investigate
The male van driver was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody. Sergeant Mick Kilburn said:
“We are continuing to investigate this incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. Anyone who saw what happened, saw the van beforehand, or has footage of the incident is asked to contact MCET on 101, referencing police log 1176 of 1 20.”
