Police Hunt Grey-Bearded Cyclist After Chilling Schoolyard Incidents
Police are on alert after a series of creepy encounters involving a man on a bike targeting school kids in March. The suspect, described as a white man in his 40s or 50s with grey hair and beard, has unnerved youngsters by either brushing past them or trying to grab their arms.
Series of Scary Interactions Across Local Streets
- 29 March: An 11-year-old boy walking home was spooked when a man on a bicycle brushed past him on Millin Avenue around 3.45pm. The man wore a red baseball cap with a symbol, a short-sleeved coat over a long-sleeve top, and was vaping.
- 2 March: An 11-year-old girl felt uncomfortable as a man on a bike brushed past and touched her arm on Cotteswold Road between 3pm and 4pm. He was seen in a hoodie.
- 7 March: The same girl reported an alarming attempt of the man grabbing her arm while cycling near Painswick Road shortly before 4.30pm. He wore a black jacket, grey and black trousers, glasses, black gloves, and rode a dark mountain bike.
Police Steps Up Patrols and Appeals for Info
Since the reports surfaced, police have worked closely with local schools, alerted parents, reviewed CCTV, and increased high-visibility patrols in the area. The motive for these unsettling actions remains unknown.
“Officers are urging anyone who has seen the man or has any information to come forward immediately,” police said.
