Wakefield Murder Shocker: Man Found Dead at Buckingham Court
Man Discovered with Serious Injuries
Police were called to Buckingham Court, Wakefield, just after midnight on 10 April. Officers found a man suffering from serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital but tragically died shortly after arrival.
Victim Named as Stephen Burkinshaw
The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Stephen Anthony Burkinshaw, a local Wakefield resident.
Man Charged with Murder
Christopher Lodge, 37, also of Buckingham Court, has been charged with murder. He was remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at Leeds Magistrates Court today.
Police Support Victim’s Family
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Nicholson said: “A man has tragically lost his life. Our specialist officers are supporting his family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time. A man was arrested and charged in connection with Mr Burkinshaw’s death.”
