Arson Attack Blazes Through Derelict Care Home on Chestnut Walk

Firesetters Strike Between 7pm and 8.30pm

On Sunday 15th May 2022, a group broke into an abandoned care home on Chestnut Walk. Inside, they started a fire that caused major damage to the building.

One suspect was seen wearing all black.

Firefighters Rush to Scene to Prevent Disaster

PC Hannah Potter from Newbury police station urged anyone with information to step forward.

“Our colleagues at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire quickly,” she said. “Without their swift action, the damage could have been far worse.”
