A Woman And Two Children Were Injured In A Serious Collision Near Newquay Airport, And Witnesses Are Being Sought

 

At 6.55 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, emergency services were called after a head-on collision on Bell Lane near the airport entrance between a dark green Vauxhall Insignia and a black BMW 1 Series.

The BMW’s three occupants were all taken to Treliske Hospital. The driver, a woman in her forties from Newquay, suffered multiple serious injuries; a young girl suffered a serious shoulder injury, and a teenage girl suffered minor injuries.

The male Vauxhall driver was unharmed.

A local man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit due to drugs, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released under investigation pending further investigation.

The road was closed for four hours while officers from the Roads Policing Team investigated the scene and recovered the vehicles.

Officers are investigating the cause of the collision and are seeking witnesses. Anyone with relevant dashcam footage is also encouraged to contact the police.
