Serious Head-On Crash Near Airport Sends Three to Hospital
A nasty head-on smash on Bell Lane near the airport entrance rocked the area at 6.55pm on Tuesday, July 5. A dark green Vauxhall Insignia collided with a black BMW 1 Series, sparking a major emergency response.
Three Injured in BMW, Including Woman and Two Girls
The BMW’s three passengers were rushed to Treliske Hospital. The driver, a woman in her 40s from NEWQUAY" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Newquay, sustained multiple serious injuries. Also hurt were a young girl with a serious shoulder injury and a teenage girl with minor wounds.
Vauxhall Driver Walks Away Unscathed
The male driver of the Vauxhall escaped without injury.
Local Man Arrested Over Dangerous Driving, Drug and Alcohol Charges
A local man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit due to 1, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He has since been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
The road remained shut for four hours as the Roads Policing Team examined the scene and cleared the wreckage.
