Major Cannabis Factory Busted in Aldershot
Police stormed two addresses on Pound Road, Aldershot, uncovering a massive cannabis farm with over 500 plants. Three men, all from Aldershot, were arrested following the raid on the morning of Thursday, July 7.
Three Arrested Over Huge Cannabis Grow
- A pair of 20-year-old men were both arrested on suspicion of producing a Class B controlled substance. They have since been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
- A 23-year-old man faced the same drug suspicion along with an immigration violation charge. Police confirmed he will face no further action over the drugs offence.
Police Warn of Hidden Dangers Behind Cannabis Farms
Police stressed that even seemingly ‘small’ cannabis operations carry serious risks. Large-scale grows are often run by organised crime gangs that deal in extreme violence, including firearms.
Officials also warned about the severe fire hazard posed by the high electrical demands of these illegal setups, which can endanger neighbouring homes and lives.
