Man Miraculously Survives Horrific Gas Explosion in £750k Home
A man suffered severe burns but escaped with his life after a devastating gas explosion tore through his pricey £750,000 house in Upper Basildon, near Reading.

The explosion ripped apart the ground and first floors of the detached property just after 10.30pm on Saturday. Windows shattered, roof sections were blasted off, and debris littered the road outside.
Heroic Escape from Fiery Wreckage
Despite serious injuries, the unidentified man managed to crawl from the burning ruins. Neighbours described him running out with his clothes shredded and blistered skin exposed.
“There was this huge woosh and rumble, then rubble flying everywhere,” a nearby resident said. “I saw him running out, hands outstretched, clothes stuck to his body.”
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
- The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent five fire engines, 30 firefighters, and an aerial ladder to tackle the blaze.
