The incident occurred last night (27/07) around 8.45 p.m. in Moyne Close.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was a pedestrian who was struck by a white Ford Fiesta.
He was taken to Southmead Hospital with severe injuries and is now in critical condition.
The Ford Fiesta’s driver fled the scene, and the car was later discovered abandoned nearby.
At this point, no arrests have been made, but CID is in charge of the investigation.
“We know that there was a large group of people in the Moyne Close area who witnessed the collision and will have vital information to assist our investigations,” Detective Inspector Tom Straker said.
“I would strongly urge anyone with information about what happened and has not already spoken to police to contact us.”
“I would also urge the driver of the Ford Fiesta to contact the police.” We are already conducting extensive searches to identify and locate them, but I would advise them to do the right thing and contact us right away.”
