Dartford Shock: Man Jailed for Brutal Attempted Murder
Andrzej Kitrys has been locked up for 21 years after a chilling attack near London Road, Stone. In the early hours of October 8, 2022, Kitrys stabbed a woman multiple times in a shared home, shaking the Dartford community to its core.
Violent Stabbing in Shared Accommodation
Kitrys had been subletting a room for just three months when tensions boiled over. The main tenants confronted him over complaints, triggering the savage assault. He viciously targeted the victim’s neck, throat, and hands in a horrific frenzy.
Bravery Saves Lives
The victim showed incredible courage, fighting back despite her injuries. Neighbours burst into the house, secured an unharmed co-tenant, and held Kitrys until police arrived — preventing further harm.
Long Sentence for Attempted Murder
Kitrys faces a minimum two-thirds jail term before parole eligibility. He must serve 21 years behind bars, followed by a four-year extended licence and a 30-year restraining order to keep the victim safe.
Detective Constable Rebecca Ward slammed the attack as a “violent and cowardly assault on a vulnerable woman in her own bed.” She praised the victim’s quick thinking and the “swift action of the firearms officers” that brought Kitrys to justice.
