Man Arrested After Knife Attack at St Helens Pub

Police swooped on Thatto Heath, St Helens, after a violent stabbing at the Vine Tavern on Elephant Lane on Saturday night.

Stabbing Chaos at Vine Tavern

At 8:55pm, officers were called to reports of a man stabbed multiple times. When they arrived, paramedics were already treating the victim’s wounds to his arms, chest, and head. The attack involved two offenders, one wielding a knife.

Victim Fighting for Recovery

The victim remains in hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Early this morning, a 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed weapon.

Ongoing Investigation and Police Appeal

Crime scene investigators are combing the pub for evidence while officers conduct door-to-door inquiries and review CCTV footage. High-visibility patrols have been deployed to calm the community.

“Our investigation into this heinous assault is making good progress,” said Detective Inspector Lisa Ryan. “We continue extensive inquiries to uncover the full circumstances. We ask anyone in the area to check dashcam or CCTV footage that might help the case.”
