Man Glassed After Homophobic Attack in East London Bar

A 20-year-old man was attacked after being targeted with homophobic abuse at a bar on The Grove, E15. The incident happened just before midnight on Friday, 19 August.

Victim Attacked After Walking Away

The victim was enjoying a night out with friends when an unknown man started hurling homophobic slurs at him. Trying to avoid trouble, he moved to another table. Moments later, the attacker smashed a glass across his chin, leaving him needing hospital stitches.

Police Seek Suspect, Possibly Russian or Georgian

Police want to identify and speak to the man pictured in connection with the assault. Officers believe he may be Russian or Georgian and spoke little English.
