326 Speeders Hit with Fines in Kent Crackdown
Kent police have cracked down hard on speeders, issuing Traffic Offence Reports to 326 drivers caught breaking the limit between 17 and 30 October. But that’s not all – mobile and static cameras snagged a whopping 3,138 more speeding vehicles during the same period.
High-Visibility Blitz Across Speeding Hotspots
The crackdown was led by the National Police Chiefs’ Council, with the Road Safety Unit targeting notorious speeding hotspots right across Kent. They had help from fellow roads policing officers and Special Constabulary volunteers, working together to keep Kent’s roads safe.
More Road Safety Campaigns Are Coming
Police aren’t slowing down yet. New operations are planned for November, including Brake Road Safety Week starting 14 November and Operation Drive Insured from 21 November, focusing on uninsured drivers who often flout multiple traffic laws.
Police Warn Speeders and Lawbreakers: We’re Watching You
Chief Inspector Craig West, Head of Roads Policing, said: “Promoting road safety and preventing collisions is a year-round priority for Kent Police. Too many still risk lives by speeding, ignoring seatbelts, texting at the wheel, or driving under the influence. We will not hesitate to take action.
“We regularly target uninsured drivers too, seizing vehicles to stop these dangers before they cause harm. My message is simple – stick to the rules, and keep yourself and others safe.”
