Son Brutally Attacks Father During Drunken Row
Dawid Arent savagely attacked his father, Marek Arent, outside their home on Hordern Road on 18 September 2021. Marek had been visiting from Poland when the shocking violence unfolded.
Witnesses Hear Shouting and Glass Breaking
Neighbours reported hearing loud shouting around 10.30pm, with a front bay window at the property smashed during the row. Less than an hour later, witnesses saw Dawid headbutt and punch his father amid more raised voices.
Father Dies After Devastating Head Injury
Marek was rushed to hospital with a brain bleed but tragically died the next day from the injuries sustained in the brutal assault.
Son Found Guilty: Sentencing Due Soon
Dawid, 33, was arrested at the scene and initially denied murder, insisting he never intended to kill his father. After a two-week trial at wolverhampton-crown-court/" title="Wolverhampton Crown Court" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="906">Wolverhampton Crown Court, he was found guilty. His sentencing is set for Thursday, 24 November.
Detective Inspector Ranj Sangha, Force CID, said: “This is an awful case of drink-fuelled anger and violence resulting in the death of an elderly man. We understand this has been devastating for the family, and we hope they can find some peace following this conviction.”
