Crane Heist Foiled as Police Nab Burglar at Barnham Supermarket

In the early hours of Tuesday, July 4th, police swooped on a daring aggravated burglary in Barnham. It all kicked off just after 2am when officers were called to a building site on Yapton Road over a stolen small crane.

ATM Theft Attempt Using Cranes Goes Wrong

Response teams quickly spotted the stolen crane being driven towards a supermarket on Barnham Road. In a brazen bid to nick an ATM, the 43-year-old driver from ashford/" title="Ashford" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Ashford, Middlesex, tried to smash and grab with the heavy machinery. But the plan collapsed after a short foot chase. The man was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and criminal damage. He’s still in custody as investigations continue.
