Officers are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in Tunbridge Wells – UKNIP

Kent Police was called to the High Street at around 3am on Sunday 9 July 2023, following a disturbance close to the train station.

It is alleged a man was punched to the ground, where he was assaulted again. It is reported the suspect then assaulted a second man in a similar location. He was punched and after being chased was pulled to the ground and repeatedly beaten. 

The first victim was taken to a local hospital and has since been discharged. Officers have yet to identify the second victim as he had left the scene when they arrived. They are keen to identify him to also check on his welfare.

A 19-year-old man from Sevenoaks was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. He is currently bailed while enquiries continue.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incidents and who hasn’t yet spoken to officers. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/121533/23.
