Sheffield Man in His 70s Stabbed to Death in Westfield Park
A grim discovery in Sheffield’s Westfield has shaken the local community. On the evening of August 9, a man believed to be in his 70s was found dead with fatal stab wounds in parkland off Shortbrook Close.
Police Called After Horrific Stabbing
Police rushed to the scene just before 11pm after reports of a man seriously injured with chest wounds. Paramedics battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Ongoing, No Arrests Yet
The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving support. Officers say the probe is in its early stages and no arrests have been made yet. Detective Superintendent Nikki Leach, leading the Sheffield investigation, appealed for public help.
“We understand this tragic event has caused distress across the community. We are committed to finding those responsible,” said Det Supt Leach. “Anyone in the Westfield area on the night of August 9 who has information — no matter how small — is urged to come forward.”
Police Seek CCTV, Dashcam Footage & Witnesses
Detectives want to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area that evening. Witnesses can contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1192 of August 9.
