Woman in Her 50s Killed in Hit-and-Run on Newark Road, Ollerton
A woman in her 50s was tragically run over and killed on Newark Road, Ollerton, at around 10.25pm on December 8. The driver is believed to have struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene without stopping.
Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail
Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Nottinghamshire Police quickly arrested a 33-year-old man from Worksop on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to report the incident. He has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Steve Waft from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “The investigation is moving at pace, and we have now arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the incident. This has been incredibly distressing for the victim’s family and our thoughts continue to be with them at this difficult time.”
