Francis Henshaw of Bury New Road was arrested on Friday and charged on Saturday 17 December 2022.
He was charged with the rape in Rochdale and also a sexual assault that occurred in September, of a 17-year-old girl.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Salford Magistrates Court today.
DS Steven Gilliland of Rochdale CID said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who identified the man in the photograph that we issued to the media.
“Because of this he has been arrested and charged and will now go before the courts.”
