Drug Gang Busted: Five Jailed for Over 23 Years in Surrey and Hampshire
Five criminals have been locked up for a combined total of more than 23 years after running a large-scale drug supply racket across Surrey and Hampshire. Surrey Police cracked the case following a thorough investigation that started back in December 2020.
Police Smash Cocaine and Cannabis Ring
The probe kicked off when officers intercepted texts revealing a cocaine and cannabis distribution network. In March 2021, a raid on Carl Garton’s home in March uncovered drugs and vital evidence that tied others to the operation.
- Carl Garton, 34, of Walden Cottages, Normandy – 10 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis, plus conspiracy to produce cannabis.
- David Caborn, 44, of Romsey Close, Aldershot – 4 years 8 months for conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis, and possession with intent to supply ecstasy and cocaine.
- Darren North, 49, of Sheeling Close, Aldershot – 3 years 4 months for conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis.
- Michaela Munro, 28, of Walden Cottages, Normandy – 3 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine.
- Shannon Garton, 26, of Gloucester Road, Aldershot – 2 years 3 months for conspiracy to supply cannabis.
Ringleader Carl Garton Busted
Detectives revealed Carl Garton masterminded the gang, running the whole operation. North and Caborn were the runners, distributing the drugs far and wide, while Munro and Shannon Garton handled day-to-day logistics.
The gang was arrested in a coordinated swoop in September 2021 and later charged.
