Chaos erupted early Sunday on Walworth Road after a man was battered with a bottle, sparking a massive police cordon.

Police sealed off the junction of Walworth Road, Boundary Lane, and Albany Road in the early hours following a violent attack. A bloody towel near the local Methodist Church caught officers’ attention as three police cars and nine officers guarded the scene.

Man in His 20s Hospitalised After Bottle Attack

The Met Police confirmed they were called at around 5am to reports of a disturbance in Camberwell Road, SE5. Officers found a man in his 20s suffering cuts, allegedly from a bottle strike.

He was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

No Arrests Yet – Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Despite the heavy police presence, no arrests have been made so far. The Met is appealing for anyone who saw what happened or has information to contact them on 101, quoting reference 1467/13nov.
