Man Savagely Assaulted in Canterbury After Being Asked for Lighter
At around 4.10pm on Monday, January 9, a man and woman were strolling through Borough when two males approached them, asking for a lighter. The pair ignored them and carried on to grab some food at a takeaway.
Attack Occurred After Takeaway Stop
But trouble wasn’t over. As the couple left the takeaway, the same suspects confronted them again. The man was violently assaulted, suffering serious facial injuries. Emergency services rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Suspects Flee Towards Canterbury City Centre
The two attackers fled the scene, heading towards Canterbury city centre.
Police Hunt Two Men Over Brutal Assault
- Suspect One: Thin white male, late 20s, about 5ft 10in tall. Notable features include pale skin, freckles, ginger hair, brown eyes. Last seen in a dark puffer jacket, hooded top, and grey tracksuit bottoms.
- Suspect Two: Similar height but larger build, with short brown hair.
