Hit-and-Run Horror in West Chiltington
Police are hunting witnesses after a serious smash rocked West Chiltington in the early hours of Sunday.
Renault Clio Smashes Into Parked Car
Just after midnight, officers were called to The Common where a Renault Clio had collided with a parked vehicle. The passenger in the Clio suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for emergency treatment.
Driver Flees Scene but Is Arrested
The Clio’s driver fled the scene but was later tracked down. A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink-driving, and failing to report the accident. He remains in custody.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
