Tragedy struck in Church Street last night as a blaze ripped through a house near the town centre.
Woman Dies in Devastating House Fire
Emergency crews rushed to the scene in the early hours, but sadly a 37-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A young girl who was in the house was quickly taken to hospital, her condition unknown.
Neighbours Evacuated as Fire Spreads
Police confirmed that several nearby residents had to be evacuated for their safety. A cordon remains in place while forensic teams comb the scene for clues.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
